The balance characteristics of a putter are one of the most important factors in fitting, as they affect the stroke trajectory and the amount of face opening and closing.
In particular, the angle at which the face drops (toe hang angle) is closely linked to the way the face moves when the player swings naturally.
Choosing the balance characteristics that suit you will improve the quality of the ball's roll, your sense of distance, and the repeatability of your impact, greatly improving the accuracy of your putting overall.
Correct balance does not "correct" your stroke, but rather "naturally aligns" it.
By adapting to the player's own habits and senses and allowing the face to return to square with a natural movement, the accuracy of impact is surprisingly stable.
Rolls exactly as intended, distance is reproducible, and impact strength can be controlled.
