The GT PROTO420 SHALLOW driver, a shallow type model of the popular GT1, has been added to the lineup. Although it has the same head volume as the GT1, the shallow model design gives it a reassuring crown projection area that does not make the head size feel small when addressing the ball.
The head performance is characteristic of a 420cc head, with high maneuverability and a strong feeling of pushing the ball out, and this model is also equipped with a 15g stainless steel power plate, which lowers the center of gravity and suppresses the increase in unnecessary backspin that is common with shallow models.
The new GT PROTO 420 SHALLOW has been born, adding forgiveness to the flight and maneuverability of the GT1.

STAINLESS POWER PLATE

By attaching a 15g stainless steel power plate to the sole surface, a deeper and lower center of gravity is achieved.
Despite its 420cc volume, it has the deep center of gravity and large center of gravity angle of a 460cc model.

BOOSTER GROOVE

By placing a booster groove near the face of the sole, the force of flexing and then returning to its original shape at impact is utilized to generate strong rebound force from the face.
At impact, the club face flexes around the periphery, increasing the initial velocity of the ball. It also increases the forgiveness of mis-hits, reducing the amount of unnecessary backspin when the ball is hit below the center of gravity, preventing loss of distance.

IMPACT SOUND

We have thoroughly improved and pursued the impact sound, which was a weakness of the sleeve model, resulting in an impact sound that evokes a tight, comfortable flight and the power of the ball.

VASSIST TPU PLATE

On the left and right sides of the sole, there is a bassist plate made of thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer, a material that combines the flexible elasticity of rubber with the strength of hard plastic.
This helps to effectively suppress and absorb the body vibrations that occur upon impact.

FORGED DAT55G CUP FACE

DAT55G is used for the face material, and the precision forged cup face has an expanded impact area by changing the heat treatment temperature of the upper and lower bridge parts and the heat treatment temperature of the center part of the face.
The face absorbs impact energy more flexibly than ever before, producing a high initial velocity ball.
Micro laser milling between the score lines also helps provide consistent spin.

TUNING INJECTION HOLE

An injection hole has been added to the toe side, allowing for further adjustments to the impact sound and weight.
